Important 4.2L Calibration Notice
This EZL is calibrated for the 4.2L M119 V8.
Do not advertise it as a correct permanent replacement for:
- 500E
- E500
- 500SE
- 500SEL
- S500
- 500SL
- SL500
- Other 5.0L M119 applications
A 5.0L vehicle may start or run with a 4.2L EZL in an emergency, but ignition calibration differs. It should not be represented as a correct long-term interchange.
Part Numbers
- 0135456332
- 013 545 63 32
- A0135456332
- A 013 545 63 32
If your unit carries a different Mercedes or Siemens number, do not assume interchangeability based only on appearance or connector fit.
Common Failure Symptoms
A failing EZL module may cause:
- Engine cranks but does not start
- Intermittent no-start condition
- Engine stalls after warming up
- Vehicle restarts after cooling
- No spark
- Weak or inconsistent spark
- Misfiring under load
- Sudden engine shutdown
- Ignition coils do not trigger
- Difficult hot starting
Similar symptoms can also be caused by crankshaft sensors, ignition coils, distributor caps and rotors, wiring, grounds, fuel delivery, or another engine-control component. Proper diagnosis is strongly recommended.
Condition Details
This is a used genuine Mercedes-Benz electronic component. It may show normal scratches, dust, faded labeling, oxidation, thermal-compound residue, or other signs of previous installation.
Please inspect all photographs carefully. You will receive the exact item shown unless otherwise stated.
Removed from a running vehicle and tested before removal. The engine started, ran, and reached operating temperature without ignition-module-related faults.
Critical Installation Requirement
The EZL module must be correctly mounted against its factory heat sink using the proper heat-transfer compound.
Old thermal compound should be carefully removed, and a suitable fresh heat-transfer paste should be applied according to Mercedes-Benz service procedures. Operating the module without proper thermal transfer can cause overheating and permanent failure.
Professional installation is recommended.
Programming
Programming is not normally required when installing an exact-number replacement. However, the module must have the correct ignition calibration for the engine and vehicle.
